Greg Mellor and Teddy Marton exchanging ideas and techniques after filming the interviews.

A page devoted to the senseis who opened their dojos, the students they trained, and the work they carried across Ontario from the 1960s to today.

Paul Gillrie keeps this page so the work isn't lost. In his words: "I get to write my history for my family. I am a genealogist and so are my sons and daughters. I have learned that when my children and grandchildren know our family history they are stronger."
The same is true of any tradition. The first generation of Eastern Karate Canada built dojos at Saltfleet High School, on Ottawa Street, at 1109 Main Street East, on the Hamilton Mountain, in Toronto. They taught the next generation, who taught the next. This site keeps the names, the faces, and the stories in one place — so the lineage stays visible.

Teddy Marton always set a great example of staying fit. At age 79 he still trains almost every day. I look forward to interviewing him for the documentary.
